The demand for creating product and scene mockups is growing. It is very useful for designers to have access to a large resource of high resolution images for creating mockups instead of creating designs from scratch. This will save them a lot of time in creating mockup scenes.

There are actually some mockup scene creators available for sale that can be used in Photoshop. But being able to edit online would be easier, right?

There are actually some online apps that allows you to do so. Here are some samples:

Immagipic.com

Immagipic is a free online mockup scene creator where you can create hundreds of different scene.
However the free scene creator is only limited to front view scenes. You can create top view scenes with add-ons but with a price tag.

This is the homepage of immagipic, when you click the create now button you will be directed to the scene creator app.

In the scene creator app, you can choose different elements such as wall,  desk which you can customize, hardware, chairs and other accessories.

Here are some of the wall elements you can choose from:

Here are some add-ons that you can purchase to make more mock-up scenes:

Here are the desk selections:

You can also compose your own desk, choose the table top and the table foot as well.

Here are some of the hardware choices offered for free.

There are currently a limited number of choices for the chairs.

Pendant lamps add sophistication to your mock-up designs, this elements are one of my favorite in this app.

Add plants to add a natural effect for your mock-up scenes.

Here are some accessories that can help spice up your mock-up scenes.

This is a sample of a finished product that  I made with Immagipic. The final image is rendered in 1680 x 1050 pixels.

Mockupeditor.com

Mockupeditor is also a free mockup scene creator app online. You can also create a free desktop mockup scene with this free online editor. However, the the design elements are very limited.

For the free version, they only have two choices for frames, four choices for wall design, three desktop accessories while other elements only have one element to choose from.

This is the final image I created with Mockupeditor. The final image is in 1500 x 1000 pixels.

If you want to have more design elements when creating with Mockupeditor, you can purchase a premium account for 35$.

In fine, I would choose to use Immagipic because of the number of the design elements you can choose from. Mockupeditor is also worth the try but the experience is not as good when you have more design elements to play with.

Having access to a good resource of graphic designs and illustrations that are free for personal and commercial use is a must for a designer to help them in creating their own designs.  While browsing the web, I have found a nice library of useful illustrations that can be customized.

Illustrio is a library of useful illustrations which can be personalized by anyone online before being downloaded. It allows you to customize the colors of the illustrations before you can download it. You can choose from illustrations, words and percentages.

They have quite a decent number of illustrations available. They currently have 6540 illustrations as of this writing (10/05/2015) and they are adding more to the collection.

Default illustrations are in Greeny color scheme. You can upload an image of the desired color scheme you want or you can manually choose your colors. At the moment, you can only choose three colors and you can swap the colors until you finally create your desired color scheme.

Illustrations

Here is a sample illustration that I tried to customize:
And here is the sample image when downloaded:

Images downloaded are in 1024x1024 pixels by default.

Text

You can also create text image, but characters are only limited to ten characters. Here are some sample of text images that you can customize.
Percentages

You can also customize percentages. These would be very useful when creating infographic designs. Currently, there are 282 illustrios available for customizing. You can enter values from 0-100.

The site is still in Beta, and was only launched this year. The app has a lot of potential, and would be very useful for graphic designers.

All photos on Illustrio are licensed under the Creative Commons Zero (CC0) license. This means the images are completely free to be used for any legal purpose.
  • You can modify, copy and distribute the photos.
  • The pictures are free for personal and even for commercial use.
  • All without asking for permission or setting a link to the source. So that attribution is not required.

It is hard to find a site that offers graphics that are free for commercial use. Therefore having found this website would be of great help for designer who would like to save time from designing and have less or few budget to purchase premium designs and illustrations.

I am not an employee of this site nor an affiliate, however, I am very excited when I have found out how this tool can help me and other designers out there. I hope you can check out this site and share with us how it has helped you.

Cheers!
